Downloading Files from Subdirectories... The 'D' Command.
A directory can be thought of as a "place" in the computer file system
that contains files or other directories.
To get a listing of the directories available, type 'W' at the BBS prompt.
Now you will have a listing of the directories, (don't worry about the
various numbers following the names). Typical names might be 'ARRL',
'DX', 'TRAFFIC', 'PACKET', etc. These directories "contain" files
pertaining to the name of the directory. Ie; ARRL has arrl bulletins
and announcements.
To see what is in each directory, type 'W' at the bbs prompt, followed
by the name of the directory. For Example, 'W ARRL'. Now you will see
a listing of the files and their sizes. (At the moment, anything smaller
than 1/2 K is shown as '0K').
Now, you know the directory name and the file name. To download the
file, just type 'D directory/file' at the BBS prompt. For example,
to download the file 'ARRLBUL.04.89" from the ARRL directory, you
would type 'D ARRL/ARRLBUL.04.89". To download the file "MICHIGAN"
from the directory "NETROM", you would type 'D NETROM/MICHIGAN'.
